What Happens in Vegas...

Posted on Jun 28, 2009

We arrived in Vegas late Saturday night for another stay at the always-luxurious Motel 6. We were a little sketched-out by the high attendance of hookers on the premises, and one hooker in particular jumped out of a tricked-out Escalade and then went upstairs as we were settling in. Half the crew and I cooled off in the grimy and most likely seldom maintained second story pool. The rest of the dudes explored downtown Las Vegas (check out Phil’s blog post). While we were swimming, we saw another prostitute discussing her payment plan with a client. By that point we'd had enough hooker sketchiness so we spent the rest of the night in our rooms. We reflected on the past two weeks and enjoyed what was our last night on the first leg of the Game of SKATE tour.

The next morning, we grabbed some In-N-Out then hit the road. The highlight of the day was when a car full of girls pulled up next to us at the gas station and one of the girls showed us her boobies. We were all very excited, especially the homey Jhonny. It may have been his first set of live boobs. I think Doug was a little grossed out, though. Just kidding, Doug!

Traffic was pretty harsh on the I-15, so we decided to pass some time on the rollercoaster at Buffalo Bill’s Casino. This roller coaster, the Desperado, is unique because the ride starts and ends indoors. I was a little skeptical about riding it because it looks like scaffolding holds it up. Although the ride was a bit bumpy, we all enjoyed the Desperado. However, Oscar and Doug blew it -- they wussed out and missed out big time.

After the rollercoaster, we continued on our ride back to Orange County. While on the I-15, two kids in the back seat of a car next to us held up signs that said “Go éS.” In the heavy traffic Jay was able to toss some stickers in their window. Then, at the agriculture inspection station coming into Cali, some of the workers were all excited to see us, too. It was nice to get a warm welcome just because of the Game of SKATE stickers on the van.

As traffic picked up, everyone got excited about getting home. The first leg of the tour was a blast, and we can’t wait to head back on the road in mid July! Maloof Money Cup and then we're out to the East Coast!
