Denver and Snowmass Adventures

June 25-26

The rain that messed with us during the Game of SKATE never seemed to slow down, so we didn't get to skate the downtown skatepark. We ate dinner at PF Chang's, where, as usual, Bibi tried his moves on our beautiful waitress. And as usual, it didn't seem to work very well. After a stuffing meal, we headed over to Barnes & Noble to grab some reading material for our long drives on the road, and went to see the movie The Hangover, which was beyond hilarious and well worth going to see.

The next morning, we started off our day at Silverthorne skatepark. We rolled around a little, but found out that they were a little strict on the helmet laws, and left to continue our journey. We grabbed some food at Chipotle and Wendy's, checked out the stores at the mall, then headed out. The next park, Edwards, looked real sick, but was rained out, so we were on our way once again. The next park was the Carbondale skatepark, which is a spot on some of the Hellrides, and was a stop on the 2004 Thrasher King of the Road. The park was a little slippery, but we managed to do a little skating before getting kicked out by the cops for not wearing helmets. After a long and rainy drive, we arrived at the Snowmass skatepark, a sick park when we met up with Jay's old pal Adam. Adam and Jay have been buddies since Jay was making a living as a snowboarder in Colorado in the mid-nineties.

Chinner's knee is making a pretty quick recovery, considering the size that egg was after his slam in Salt Lake City, and he was rolling around the park fairly comfortably. Locals that we had seen at the Carbondale skatepark also showed up at the Snowmass skatepark to say hey and get their skate on, so we had some company for a nice session. After we shredded the park, we ate deep dish pizza pie at Beau Joe's then called it a night. Can't wait for Vegas now!
