"I Don't Eat Seafood, But I'll Take Some Shrimps!"

After our late-night web work and short 3-hours of sleep in Ashland, Oregon, we were awakened by the blaring sound of the wake up call at 5:30 am sharp. We rounded up all our stuff and were on the road heading north by six. An hour outside Seattle, we stopped to eat breakfast at an IHOP, where the hostess was intrigued with our travels; when she found out we were skaters, the next question was of course regarding Rob Dyrdek and if we had acquaintance with him. Dyrdek's this year's version of Bam from a few years ago and Tony Hawk over the last 10 years. We passed the seemed-eternity waiting for our food when we found a drum beat machine and Tech Deck app on someone's iPhone.

As we pulled into Seattle we were hyped to see the Space Needle. After a few missed exits due to the construction going on, we arrived at Sno Con, where the shop employees shared stories of hijinx at past games of skate. The spot where the game was to be held had amazingly smooth ground, and last year's winner Paljum Tshering took the win. After we took all the gear down, we had some spare time to roll around on the perfect warehouse ground with a couple of the shop guys. The ground was super fast...

We drove to the historic Waterfront, and after a hectic half hour of trying to find parking we found a spot -- it was worth it because we were heading to our favorite Seattle restaurant, The Crab Pot. This is the spot where they throw all the seafood on the table on paper and everyone just goes at it Viking style.

Even Phil, our token vegetarian, got in on the action -- he eats this stuff! Surprisingly, the waiter with the Flock of Seagulls haircut recognized us from the past years. After being handed our mallets and boards, we got down to business and began our feast. For some weird reason, Jhonny and Doug decided to order hamburgers. Their later remorse was marked by Jhonny's sad glance around the table and a simple "fool, we f**ked up" to Doug as they ate their burgers. Bibi was also overheard saying "I don't eat seafood, but I will take some shrimps!" Man, there is so much to learn in this world.Bebe

After dinner, we stopped at the Space Needle where Jhonny and Bibi met up with family they hadn't seen in a long time. They went to spend the night with their folks, and we'll pick them up tomorrow on the way to Utah. We're gonna hit up Hood River again, and probably some others -- Hood River is amazing!
