éS Game of SKATE - Virginia Beach, VA, September 14th, 2009
With the anticipation for the rain date building for more than a month, this was the scene an hour-and-a-half before the scheduled start time!
With the last minute orders of driving to Virginia Beach to handle the daunting task of a Game of SKATE without our normal crew or any supplies, we had to improvise everything to make it happen including our sign up sheets and bracket system. Ruled pads become the new command central...
Everyone was out for the make-up game in Virginia Beach. A Grand total of 130 kids turned out to make the rain-date almost as big as the original éS Game of SKATE that was rained out on August 6th.
A nice Ro-Sham-Bo between Tripp Prillaman and Marcus Rascoe to get their game started. Tripp's enthusiasm throughout the day bordered on sinister and sometimes seemed like he was up to something...

The top four skaters to make it to the Finals were: Jamiel Bryant, Perry Hash, Trevor Colden and Joe Eastman. Jamiel wasted no time in handing out letters with his first trick - a switch lazer heelflip and followed it up with a switch bigspin heelflip and some light-hearted trash talking. He made it clear that he came to win and sealed the deal with a nollie lazer heelflip and a fakie double flip, that was almost landed by Joe Eastman on the second try.

We thought Perry Hash had left and mistakenly took the picture without him - turns out he was in Hotline the whole time! Sorry, Perry....you ripped and deserved to be up here!
