The éS Game of SKATE in Raleigh, North Carolina was held at Vertical Urge, in the beautiful, air conditioned skatepark right in back of the skate shop. It was nice to be indoors and out of the weather after being rained out in Virginia Beach and partially rained out in Sayreville over the last two weeks.

As usual, the North Carolinans came out in force, and nearly 150 participants played SKATE.

There were dozens of skaters who had a shot at the finals throughout the day, including our buddy David Chayko, but the four finalists ended up being Brad Stafford, Mark Macchioni, Gregg Britt and Kaleb Jones.

During the early rounds, my money had been on Brad Stafford to win, but during the Finals he and Gregg both surprised me, getting taken out on the same trick, leaving Mark and Kaleb to battle it out for a while before Kaleb eliminated Mark with a backside heelflip.
