San Jose, Costa Rica

As kids filled the park in the early hours of the afternoon posters, stickers and raffle tickets were given away. It was a great day for running the event, even though it had rained, over 250 people showed up the park to take a look at 70 kids flipping boards and landing tricks on all four wheels in order to advance through the brackets and get on their way to the finals.

The level of flatground skills, tricks and strategies amongst the kids just keeps getting better and bigger. As a lot of the kids that are entering the Game of SKATE and seriously thinking of winning the golden ticket to represent Costa Rica at the upcoming Central Americian final, they are also sitting on the sidelines to watch all of the different games taking place in order to see what are the tricks that their potential opponents are not landing, so they can make them in a future match.

At the end of the four and half hours we had a four way final that included Miguel Castro, Andrew Brooks, Juan Manuel Vargas and Rodolfo Solano. The final went on for about 20 minutes and Andrew Brooks did his thing and slowly but surely was able to put all letters on Rodolfo, Miguel and the last survivor Juan Manuel.
