The Premium Distribution, in partnership with the São Paulo City Hall and 100% Skate Mag, put together the third Annual éS Game of SKATE on May 10, 2008. Brazilian amateurs and pros battled it out to qualify a Brazilian champion to compete on the éS Game of SKATE South American Finals.

As with previous years, the technical level was impressive and really hard to pick a favorite representative to compete in Chile on May 24th.

In 2008, the organizers decided to keep the same formula of having a bracket with 16 Ams and another with 16 Pros, promoting a final between both divisions.

The Amateur Finals were between Diego Chavero and the 2007 2nd place winner, Dhiego Correa. Both Diego’s have amazing flatground techniques and Chavero had an advantage of (S.K.A.T.) over Correa who turned around the game and defined himself as the 2008 champion.

On the Pro side, the finalists were the 2007 Latin American champion, Rodrigo Maizena, and etnies Brazil rider, Esteban Florio. Esteban was kind of nervous which made it easy for Rodrigo to eliminate Florio. Again, as in 2007, the Brazilian final was Dhiego Correa and Rodrigo Maizena, which makes the crowd even more stoked. Maizena had the lead at the beginning and he placed two letters over Dhiego, but different of 2007, Dhiego was more chill and turned around the game. It was an unbelievable battle and the Dhiego Correa took 1st place as the number one flatground skater in Brazil in '08. Maizena made it clear he wants to compete again in 2009 and, if possible, battle Dhiego on another final to settle for good, who’s the flatground King of our country.

Dhiego told us he’s really happy for representing Brazil in Chile and the only thing he’s thinking right now is "winning" and representing South America at the Global éS GAME of SKATE during the Maloof Cup in Orange County CA on July 11th to 13th. Enjoy Skateboarding!
