Virginia Beach, Virginia

Virginia Beach has a deep history in skateboarding, going back to the early Mt. Trashmore days (look it up if you’re not sure what I’m talking about), and each successive generation of kids seems to grow up with skateboarding in their blood. This was evident at the éS Game of SKATE by the amount of young kids and girls who ripped.
Despite eventually being taken out in the third and fourth rounds, there were a handful of surprising young’uns who will make waves in the years to come. Held in conjunction with Hotline skate shop in the parking lot of Chicho’s right on Pacific Avenue a block from the beach, the game was almost rained out. Actually, we did get rain, but the skaters kept going, and the rain cleared, the sun came out, and everyone got sweaty.
Despite a strong contingent of challengers, including éS Game of SKATE friend Brian Lotuaco, Joe Eastman took home the top spot and is all psyched to be representing for VB in San Diego in September. See you there, Joe!
