The éS Game of SKATE 2007 in Perth, Western Australia went down on July 7, 2007 at Manning Skatepark. The day was bathed in sunshine, and at 11:30 a.m., I counted 180 kids. The music of Jimi Hendrix blasted over the speakers and the barbeque was simmering. We definitely had a good vibe going. We got 48 kids signed-up and the skateboarding that followed was top-notch.
It came down to four skaters in the Semis, two of whom made it through. Barry Mansfield was the undisputed winner. This was the best day! We finished at 4:00 p.m. and it started pissing down rain at 6:00! Lucky! It should be a great finale in Melbourne, with Perth’s Harry Clarke already making it through on an earlier Game.--Pip Bourke
