Phoenix, Arizona
The second éS Game of SKATE of the Summer was held in Phoenix, Arizona, on a mild—for Phoenix–night in early June. The éS Game of SKATE is presented by Boost Mobile and locally was made possible by Cowtown Skateboards. Nixon and SKF Bearings also stepped up with prizes and help, keeping the support of real skateboard events going.
With more than 180 skaters in the contest, it was a battle just to get down to the top 24. After the dust settled, the top two were John Moore and Carlos Lastra. John won the Phoenix event two years ago and has only improved since, with lots of pop and proper tricks. But this one belonged to Carlos after a T-to-T tie, and he will be representing for Arizona in San Diego in September at the éS Game of SKATE Amateur World Championships, presented by Boost Mobile.
