Here's the rundown: the Brisbane, Australia éS Game of SKATE 2007 was held at Coorparoo Skatepark. The good weather lasted all day and we had 24 total entries. During the Finals, the spectator head count was at about 100. We ran two-man heats all day, increading to three-man heats in the Finals. The results were Joel McElroy, first place; and Tommy Flynn, runner up.

Names for heats were drawn out of hats and there were three judges for each heat to make sure everything was fair. We also had a Brisbane City Council representative show up to gauge the use of the facilities, and she couldn't have been happier with the turnout, crowd behavior and clean-up of the park afterward. So, Brissy Council gives Skatebiz and éS major props.

We had a few heads show up, such as Element pro Josh Rio and the latest Slam mag cover star Tommy Flynn, as well as local sponsored riders. All in all, everyone was really happy with the day and the results. Here's looking forward to a bigger and better Game next year.--Carl Tulk
