On Saturday, July 7, 2007 we held the éS Game of SKATE 2007 in Adelaide, Australia! There was a good turnout early and the comp got underway with Nutty emceeing and Dan Leeche and Marco acting as judges. Skaters showed up from all over the state and also the Northern Territory. After the rains, a lot of effort from the local kids was put into drying the lane. It's amazing what kids will do for a free cap! We were almost ready to kick off with the Semis before the rain came thundering down again.
To add insult to injury, the police kicked the event out of a couple of different venues, until we finally moved it to a secret location. Local Peter Z came out on top! Congrats to Peter, Paul, Matt and Igor who, made it into the Finals. The day started off early for Tommy from the Daily Grind Marion store and Dan and Marco from the City store. A huge thank you to these guys for helping out, judging and drying the lane after rain spells. Cheers to Cale Nuske for that, too. A huge thank you also goes out to DJ Scotty T. for his time and effort to help put this thing together and for hiring the DJ gear to make the day a huge success. Looking forward to the Finals!
